District TB Control Society Kargil Observes World Tuberculosis Day with Hope and Determination to End TB by 2025.

On March 24th, the District TB Control Society Kargil marked World Tuberculosis Day with the theme “Yes! We can end TB!” The purpose of the day is to instill hope and encourage strong leadership, increased investment, swift adoption of new WHO recommendations, adoption of innovations, expedited action, and cross-sector collaboration to combat the TB epidemic.

Feroz Ahmad Khan, the Chairman/CEC of LAHDC Kargil, the ADC of Kargil, and health department doctors and officials were in attendance.

The CEC reported that 72 patients from the Kargil district are currently being observed and treated, and they are receiving nutritious food from various volunteers and NGOs. He stated that World TB Day is celebrated every year through various campaigns and health awareness programs to prevent and treat this deadly tuberculosis infection.

The CEC expressed hope that TB will be eradicated from the district by 2025. He also praised the TB Control Society Kargil for actively disseminating information and identifying patients.

An awareness rally was also held, beginning at the Old Hospital Kargil and proceeding through the main market of Kargil, with the participation of students and ASHA workers who took a pledge to end TB.
