The District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti, and the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare in the Union Territory of Ladakh collaborated to organize a capacity-building program for ASHA and Anganwadi workers on May 11th.

The primary aim of the program was to equip Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers and Anganwadi workers with a deeper understanding and proficiency in reproductive health and hygiene.

Dr. Aysha Malo, a Consultant Gynecologist from SNM Hospital, served as the resource person for the event. She covered a range of topics, including the basic anatomy of both male and female reproductive systems, menstrual health and hygiene, pregnancy, cervical cancer, vaccines, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in a question and answer session, allowing them to seek clarification and further delve into the discussed topics.

Kunzang Angmo, a Gender Specialist, extended a warm welcome to all participants and expressed gratitude for their active involvement. Her remarks underscored the collaborative spirit and empowerment objectives of the program.
