Enhancing Livestock Data Accuracy: Workshop on Integrated Sample Survey in Leh

The Department of Animal Husbandry, UT Ladakh, organized a Workshop cum Training on Integrated Sample Survey (ISS) for State/District Nodal Officers of UT of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and UT of Ladakh on June 6 in Leh.

The workshop cum training session was inaugurated by Jagat Hazarika, Advisor (Statistics) and Director of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Government of India.

The primary objective of the workshop cum training was to familiarize State Nodal Officers/District Nodal Officers with the eLISS application and to address essential data gaps. The aim was to recommend measures for accurate data collection on major livestock products from States & UTs.

Participants included V. P. Singh, Director (AHS) from the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, along with Dr. Mohd Iqbal, Director of Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries Departments, UT Ladakh, and Dr. Altaf Ahmad Laway, Director of AHD, Kashmir. Additionally, State/District Nodal Officers from Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Ladakh, as well as a representative from ICAR-IASRI, attended the training program.
