Government Model Degree College Zanskar’s Vibrant Celebration of National Sports Day

Government Model Degree College Zanskar observed National Sports Day with immense enthusiasm on August 29th. This event, dedicated to the memory of the legendary sportsman Major Dhyan Chand, marked a significant milestone in showcasing the college’s unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive education.

The festivities commenced with an inspiring address by Mustafa Ali, the College Director of Physical Education and Sports. In his speech, he emphasized the pivotal role sports plays in the lives of students, highlighting its importance for their holistic development.

Dr. Jamphel Sheyan also delivered a thought-provoking presentation on the theme “Game and Sports: Marking the Difference.” During his talk, he shared intriguing insights into the traditional sport of Archery in Ladakh.

Dr. Abid Ali contributed to the occasion by shedding light on various schemes launched by the Government of India aimed at enhancing sports infrastructure across the nation. As part of the celebration, a Table Tennis tournament was organized, providing an opportunity for students to showcase their sporting prowess.

The National Sports Day celebration was a testament to the college’s steadfast commitment to promoting physical fitness and character development among its students.
