International Day of Zero Waste

The NSS Wing of the University of Ladakh, in partnership with Zero Waste Ladakh (NGO), hosted an event commemorating the ‘International Day of Zero Waste’ at the Leh Campus on March 30.

The primary objective of the event was to raise awareness about the significance and application of zero waste principles in daily life. Volunteers from Zero Waste Ladakh delivered insightful presentations covering various themes such as eliminating single-use plastic, initiating a zero waste lifestyle, and sustainable menstruation practices.

These presentations offered valuable insights and practical advice for adopting a zero waste lifestyle. The event concluded with a discussion session focused on promoting a zero waste environment within the campus. Students contributed innovative ideas to enhance sustainability and eco-friendliness on campus.

The University of Ladakh expresses sincere appreciation to Zero Waste Ladakh for their collaboration and to all participants for their enthusiastic support in advancing the cause of zero waste. Dr. Jigmat Dechen, the NSS Programme Coordinator/Dean of Students Welfare at the University of Ladakh, along with other faculty members, attended the event.
