Kargil Education Department Hosts Training Program for Zanskar Teachers, Distributes Laptops and Tablets

The Education Department of Kargil recently hosted a two-day training program for teachers in the Zanskar Zone, focusing on the UDISE Plus and PFMS modules as part of the Samagra Shiksha initiative. The training sessions were led by Mohd Shabir, Samagra Shiksha Coordinator, and Mohd Ali, UDISE Coordinator. The Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Kargil, S.D. Namgyal, also participated in the program. The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Zanskar expressed appreciation to the CEO Kargil and the experts for organizing this valuable training.

During the closing ceremony, CEO Kargil distributed laptops to outstanding students from Class 10 and 12 under the LAHDC Kargil subsidy program and educational tablets to Class 9 students in the Zanskar Zone as part of the Yountab scheme from the UT Administration. The distribution was attended by the Principal of HSS Padum, ZEO Zanskar, and Zanskar Zone teachers.

In his speech, CEO Kargil highlighted the commitment of the Education Department, LAHDC Kargil, and the Administration to enhancing educational infrastructure, technology, and resources. He encouraged students to make the most of the laptops and tablets to achieve their academic goals and urged teachers to work with dedication to support students’ learning objectives.

Program Coordinator Mohd Shabir thanked the ZEO Zanskar and the participants for their active involvement, which contributed to the success of the training program. Following the training, CEO Kargil visited local schools, KGBVs, Netaji Hostel, and various construction sites for projects under different schemes.

The CEO also engaged with teachers, community members, Village Education Committees (VECs), School Management Development Committees (SMDCs), and contractors, urging them to accelerate the construction work due to the limited working season in the region.
