Ladakh Festival 2022 to be held from October 13 to 16

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Sonam Chosjor chaired a meeting regarding the celebration of Ladakh Festival 2022 from October 13 to 16.

The meeting deliberated on the various activities to be observed during the four-day event to make the festival a spectacular occasion for the promotion of tourism by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh. It decided the events schedule inclusive of the venues and the corresponding committees for the same.

Roles and functions of various committees, such as Cultural, Archery, Reception, Venue Management, Beautification, and Decoration committees were also discussed.

It was decided that activities like a cultural procession, horse polo matches, archery, horse riding, art and photo exhibition, film screening, stalls displaying traditional handloom-handicraft products, cuisine, and art and craft would be organised.

ADC Leh was instructed to prepare and submit the finalized events calendar for the Ladakh Festival at the earliest. He also assured to take forward the concerns raised by the stakeholders from the tourism industry.

Superintending Engineer, PWD Leh; Special Officer for Culture, Cultural Academy, Leh; Assistant Director, Tourism; Executive Engineer, PHE Leh; Representatives from All Ladakh Travel trade Alliance, Leh; All Ladakh Hotels and Guest Houses Association, Leh and All Ladakh Tour Operator Association, Leh attended the meeting.
