LG Mathur distributes sports equipment to all govt. schools in Leh

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh RK Mathur distributed sports equipment to registrants of presidency schools in Leh at Raj Niwas within the month of september 21.

The sports equipment is definitely being issued to all federal government schools under the Special Expansion Package( SDP) and income part of State CAPEX to develop and promote the sports expertise and physical fitness of learners in Ladakh.

Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson interacted with the students and physical education instructors of different schools and suggested them to give their ideal for the fitness of learners and to develop their sporting expertise. He also reviewed the advance of works worth more in comparison with ₹40 crore to build up athletics infrastructure in a variety of schools.

Athletics equipment worth ₹4 crores sent out among the school students covered archery kits, gymnastics mats, glaciers hockey kits, cricket kits, sports, handball and volleyball, table golf bats and table, badminton racquets and shuttlecocks, etc.

LG supports  also distributed band products, including bass drum, side carol, beater chop and cymbals, and outdoor play area equipment to the students.

A low cost of ₹34 lakh has been allotted to get the development of archery during 17 Government Higher Secondary Universities in Leh, while ₹24. a few lakh worth of gymnastic rugs had been purchased for 32 Federal government High and 17 Government Bigger Secondary Schools. Ice hockey products worth ₹50 lakh has also been purchased for training purposes, although road and track cycle worthy of more than ₹3. 5 lakh has been purchased for bicyclists from Leh. Sports items worthy of ₹50 lakh have been acquired for all the schools during Leh.

Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk, Secretary, Sports, and Youth Services, Ravinder Kumar and Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse were present during the distribution of sports equipment.
