Mock drill on disaster management held at GDC Kargil

13th Bn NDRF Ludhiana in collaboration with District Disaster Management Authority Kargil organised a mock drill on disaster management at Government Degree College Kargil on August 26.

ADC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani was the chief guest besides other heads of the respective departments, college teachers, students, and volunteers were present on the occasion.

The safety program aimed to train all the district officers, teaching, non-technical staff, volunteers, and students of the college about how to tackle any type of disaster, earthquake, landslide, flash flood, fire and give pre-hospital treatment.

Assistant Commandant Ranjeet Singh gave a detailed presentation on Disaster Management preparations, disaster event mitigation, cloudburst, possible metrological causes, effects of cloudburst, flood and its types, flood mitigation, rescue system, water safety code, rescue techniques, and other related topics.

Master trainer Hawaldar Pawan Kumar and his team gave the training on first aid, bandaging, CPR, lifting of victims, etc.

Assistant Professor, Tsetan Dolker thanked Chairman DDMA, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, District administration,  district officers, DDMK team, and all the departments for successfully organising the training session at the college.

She also thanked Assistant Commandant 13th Bn NDRF Ludhiana for imparting training to the students.
