“Review of MGNREGA and NRLM Progress in Leh District”
On June 25, Sonam Nurboo, Additional District Development Commissioner of Leh, conducted a comprehensive review of the progress of MGNREGA and NRLM at the DC Conference Hall. The meeting focused on assessing the status of MGNREGA projects across various villages and the developmental strides made by NRLM in these areas.
During the meeting, Sonam Nurboo meticulously evaluated the progress in each block alongside Block Development Officers, emphasizing the need for thorough supervision of sanctioned projects from inception to ensure all requisite parameters are met. He directed swift completion of pending projects and instructed timely updates of progress on the online portal.
Additionally, BDOs were instructed to maintain regular updates on the area officer app through NREGA site inspections.
The District Programme Manager of NRLM, Leh, delivered a detailed presentation highlighting the advancements of the Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission. This included insights into the establishment of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across different blocks, focusing on their product development showcased at national platforms, which has garnered exposure and financial support.
The presentation also covered various training initiatives for SHGs, such as leather bag making, integrated farming land identification, and a two-day training on community resource management.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (Dev), Leh; Assistant Director Planning, RDD, Leh; Executive Engineer (REW), Leh; and all NRLM teams from Leh district.
