As part of the ongoing Intensive Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) campaign, the Block Medical Officer of Community Health Centre Sankoo, Kargil, organized an orientation program on July 22 at CHC Sankoo. The aim of the program was to enhance awareness and combat the prevalence of diarrheal diseases in the district through comprehensive health initiatives.
Dr. Zahida Khatun, Block Medical Officer of Community Health Centre Sankoo, focused on managing diarrhea in children under five years old. She emphasized that the primary goal of the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight 2024 is to eliminate child deaths caused by childhood diarrhea. Dr. Khatun also outlined various activities planned for IDCF, including setting up ORS Zinc Corners in all health facilities within the Sankoo Block.
The program included practical demonstrations on essential hygiene practices and the preparation of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) to effectively prevent and treat diarrhea.
Several health professionals attended the orientation program, including Community Health Officers (CHOs), Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANMs), Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), Community Health Officer (CHC) Zakiya Banoo, Lady Health Visitor (LHV) Sakina Banoo, Junior Health Inspector (JHI) Archoo Zeenab, Ager Ali (BITO), and Mohd Ali (BAM).
