two day workshop on advanced technologies-plastic waste use in road construction concludes

An excellent 2– day training curriculum on Customized Capacity Building on advanced technologies, utilization of spend plastic in road construction, and road security precautions in Ladakh concluded on July 12 at Syed Mehdi Auditorium Hall Kargil. The training was organised by Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department( RD&PRD) UT Ladakh. Professional Engineer REW Er Shabbir Hussain extended gratitude to the instructors and UT Administration for the successful conduct of the LACE level workshop and expected more such events later on as well. He expressed satisfaction over the workshop and said that the engineers from Kargil would have taken maximum advantages of this program, the way it was curated and executed. The two– day workshop witnessed various lectures and presentations on the use of plastic in street construction in the cold region by Dr. Ambika Behl Primary Scientist/ HOD Central Road Research Company( CRRI), Principal Scientist Dr. Abhishek Mittal, Principal Scientist Gaagandep Singh, Scientist Rajiv Kumar, and Elderly Scientist Dr. G Bharath. The training covered subjects like usage of plastic waste, utilization of locally available material, cold blend technology for faster road building, testing technologies, design and building of flexible pavements, road security, recycling of bituminous pavements, and maintenance rehabilitation technologies, etc. Pertinently, CRRI, New Delhi is a specialized laboratory of the Authorities of Scientific& Industrial Study( CSIR) engaged in carrying away research and development projects on the design, construction, and repair of roads and runways, traffic and transportation planning of towns, management of roads, utilization of commercial waste in road building, ground improvements environmental pollution, street traffic safety, and allied activities.
