The very first Nubra Sports and Excursion Festival 2022 concludes

First edition of the five-day long Nubra Sports and Adventure Festival concluded at Thurtim Tongstat on October 23.

Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Adv Tashi Gyalson and MP, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal lauded the efforts of the organising committee and all the stakeholders and supporters including local associations and the Indian Army for successfully conducting the festival at different venues in Nubra this year.

They emphasised the need for developing a healthy society by ensuring good platforms for the youths in the field of sports and adventure. They also assured to assist in promoting adventure sports and tourism, especially in far-flung regions of Ladakh including the Nubra region.

As informed, the main motive behind conducting this festival was to motivate and encourage youths especially women to participate in sports such as rock climbing, cycling, archery etc. Accordingly, a large number of women’s participation was witnessed in each and every sporting activity.
