As part of the ongoing 7-day Tribal Painting Workshop organized by the Tribal Research Institute, University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus, a special heritage tour was conducted for 50 tribal students from various high and higher secondary schools of Kargil on April 27.
The students visited several heritage sites across the scenic Suru Valley to explore and understand the region’s rich artistic heritage and the serene beauty of its natural surroundings.
The exposure tour aimed to inspire young artists and deepen their connection with their homeland’s cultural and natural treasures.
Led by Kaneez Fatima, team leader of the workshop, the students were encouraged to observe, document, and draw inspiration from the intricate heritage and breathtaking landscapes, enriching their learning experience during the workshop.
The Tribal Painting Workshop and the associated heritage tour represent significant initiatives to promote cultural awareness, artistic skills, and pride in indigenous traditions among the tribal youth of Ladakh.
